is this program right for me?:

  • Medical assistants take patients' vital signs, such as their blood pressure, and complete administrative and clinical tasks, such as scheduling appointments.

  • Phlebotomy and EKG specialists typically record patient history and measure vital signs, help physicians with patient examinations, give patient injections, and prepare blood for laboratory tests.

  • The 12-month Medical Assistant program builds on entry-level training in the basics of EKG processes and phlebotomy techniques. If you find yourself in a role that requires certification in the more focused and specialized sub-categories of EKG Technician and/or Phlebotomy Technician, these are also available after you graduate.

  • The 12-month MA program offers:

    • Customized course assignments and activities geared toward online learners, based on feedback from industry experts

    • New, enhanced “Intro to Medical Assisting” course that provides “A day in the life of an MA.”

    • Improved, innovative use of simulations to familiarize and enhance confidence with clinical skills

    • “Preview of externship” through 30 hours of virtual clinical scenarios prior to actual on-site externship

    • Upon graduation from Medical Assisting, eligible for additional certifications from NAHP

  • Fellows seeking national certification to advance in their career must do the following:

    • Complete an accredited Medical Assisting program, such as this one.

    • Take and pass the NRCMA exam offered through the NAHP

    • Determine which additional certification you want to take next and apply via www.nahpusa.com.

    • Pay the registration fee & purchase your study materials through the NAHP website.

    • Take the next credentialing exam at the time, date, and location you selected during registration.

    • Wait until you receive your new credentials in the mail from the NAHP before applying for any additional credential of your choice.

  • Yes! This program qualifies graduates to sit for three NATIONAL exams:

o NRCMA: Nationally Registered – Certified Medical Assistant (included with CHCP program tuition)

o NRCEKG: Nationally Registered – Certified EKG Technician (optional at graduate’s expense)
