Avery Newton is the Senior Director of Learning & Evaluation at Propel America. For the last decade she has worked as an education researcher and program evaluator, with a particular interest in career exploration initiatives and the school-to-work transition.  Throughout her career, she has advised or partnered with more than 60 school districts, community organizations, and educational programs across the country on issues ranging from policy and strategic planning to data governance and impact research.

Dr. Newton holds a B.A. in Education Policy from the College of William and Mary and a Ph.D. in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, & Assessment [MESA] from Boston College.  She is also an alumna of the Massachusetts Education Policy Fellowship and Harvard’s Strategic Data Project Fellowship.
